If you are a potential Ballyhoo client, it is likely that you have spent years, or decades, perfecting your knowledge of your field and its challenges, and as a consequence, you have a very good idea of what it would take to train others to reach your level of knowledge and skill – hopefully more quickly than you did so yourself.

That’s where we come in. Becoming an “instant expert” on a new subject is a job requirement for any successful game developer, whether they develop commercial games, serious games, or both.

Ballyhoo core team members have been instrumental in the creation of many successful, and very creative, commercial strategy games, ranging from the original Civilization (MicroProse) to the more recent Rise of Nations (Microsoft) and Ubisoft’s The Settlers: Heritage of Kings. We also have extensive experience in the creation of seriously successful strategy games, including BreakAway’s Incident Commander, a game currently being distributed by the National Institute of Justice that teaches the Incident Command System (ICS), and Code Orange, a training game created for the Washington Hospital Center’s Simulation and Training Environment Lab (SiTEL: www.sitel.org) that teaches the Hospital Incident Command System (HICS). Ballyhoo core team members are currently working with SiTEL on an improved version of this product.

While at BreakAway, Ballyhoo members were part of the mosbē™ team. mosbē™ is a real-time, operational-level wargame created for use by the U.S. Army, and the Integrated Gaming System and Entropy-Based Warfare Model, an operational-level simulation and toolset used extensively by the U.S military, including the U.S Army’s Training and Doctrine Command, Office of the Secretary of Defense - Net Assessment, National Defense University, NATO War College, and Joint Forces Command.
